12:26 am - The evolution of my gear.

skmnsth
Since I started playing in late '07, My gear's undergone a steady evolution. The pics to follow will give a rough sketch of the development of my gear.  Keep in mind that i am not in the least bit a gearwhore, and pretty much own one loadout.

This photo,Taken at a skirmish day in March 2008, shows the first version of my loadout. A UTG crossdraw vest,Drop leg holster (No-name) and a pair of JT paintball goggles. This rig began to evolve quickly to suit better needs.

6/08 I acquired a MOLLE war belt from Supply Captain,With a dump bag and a single mag pouch. At the time,I was usually carrying a box magazine on my M4,So the need for further magazines was for the most part negated.

Here i am wearing the above pictured setup 7/08 at an event in New Jersey. Those M/44 Wind sand and dust goggles were a stopgap measure, ended in disaster, and didn't last long.

09/08 i had acquired this condor plate carrier, but it did not fit my frame very well and i got rid of it equally fast. At this point i had a three line system set up with my pistols and the majority of my magazines on my belt, and the plate carrier above that.

Next up,I tried switching to a Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) with the same war belt (Are you starting to see a pattern forming here?) But was equally displeased with the result. Although, In this time, i began to find flaws with the LC-2 suspenders i was using at the time as well.

In spring 2008 i acquired a  condor IBA, my second attempt at running a plate carrier. After abandoning the idea of running mags on my PC,as it prohibits prone movement, I bought a set of suspenders designed for the war belt, with a MOLLE piece on the back (which freed up the space previously occupied by my butt pack) so now i can run a second nalgene on the belt. (I don't use a camelbak)

So,What does everyone else have for gear?

10:56 pm - Leaving the Hobby sale . . .

swwinchester
Well ... I've had an awful lot of fun these last ten or so years playing airsoft ... but times are tough, and I can't find any players in this area, so it's time to offload most of my remaining gear (I'm keeping a pistol for plinking, and will still be keeping an eye on the hobby, but I'm done with actively seeking to play).

-ONE- item is up on eBay at this location -TM MP5-J with accessories.

Other items that I'm not yet putting up on ebay but wanted to open to you guys first will follow after the jump.Read more...Collapse )

12:34 pm - Decisions, decisions...

silverfur
Been following the development news on WE M4 GBB with interest, and the promises are getting more and ore intersting. Don't think I'd want to order the first one, but that's because I was excited about the WAM4 GBB until the first samples disintegrated at users.

But before I can get a new rifle, I probably should streamline my collection some, and sell some stuff away. So I am checking here if any of you would be interested.

Current collection; anything in it could be for sale for right price:

G3SBS - Metal body, SD front-end, SG/1 solid stock for large battery.
HK51 - MC51 with extended outer barrel, large foregrip, UMP-style sidefolder stock
+2 HiCap, 6 regular magazines, batteries, extra bits...

WA SV ProKiller Mark 2 F5 - PGC aluminium slide, full-auto, +1 mag
KWA G23 - stock, +1 mag, Blackhawk left-handed CQC holster
KWC National Match - Custom wood lefty grips
KSC SPP - Bolt buffer, +1 long, +3 short magazines, chronoed 107m/s on occasion, 'empty' silencer
KSC Beretta 8000 Cougar - +2 magazines
MZ Walther PPK Movie Prop - With case + silencer
HFC Mauser C96 NBB "Box Cannon" - Broomhandle-Mauser in 6mm nbb.

MZ M1100 in bits and pieces + 22 shells disassembled to fit next item until found out it just can't be done.
G&P slither-stock for MZ M870 WILL NOT fit on M1100 without extensive modification to gas hosing.

That SHOULD be all. Comments screened, in case someone wants to make an offer, but what I'm really looking at is the kind of interest these pieces would generate.

8:15 pm - AK-Lovers?

zivah007
Hey all, I figured I'd "de-lurk" for a moment and talk about one of my favorite things.. The AK-Family :)

Currently I own a few AK airsoft weapons and plan on more soon.

My most fielded weapon right now is my G&G RK-104 (AK 105), I adore it, it's been solid as a rock and I have never actually been all-around happier with a buy. I elected to get the 104 over the 103 due to it's smaller size (which suits me as I am not a very big person). I have a GP-30 for it (Danmu brand, from gunner's). Which had to be modded a teensy bit to fit the shorter RK-104 front but it was a simple matter of a Dremmel-job.

Also, I have a Dboys/Kalash AK74S-RK03. It's a nice little weapon as far as the copies go. Steel and wood (though its that soft chinese pine, wood. which I intend on replacing with a real wood kit). Shoots a bit too hot out of the box (chronoed in at 420-430). I have since lowered the spring down to a laylax 110, and added a DBC 6.01mm and guarder clear bucking. It's now very accurate and consistently in the 350 range. It does have nylon bushings, which at first I was going to replace, but they are very nice nylon bushings and seem to hold up very well. The side folding stock is surprisingly not wobbly! I plan on "aging" this gun and making some custom mags for it out of RS ones.

I'm eagerly waiting for G&G's AK47MS to hit the US so that I can try it out :)

Any other AK-lovers want to share their love stories?
